Welcome to Candid Captures' Blog
Sometimes the most difficult part of following your dream is to step outside your comfort zone. Sunday I took a giant step outside my comfortable bubble and photographed complete strangers. Talk about a confidence boost! People I don't even know, saw photos I'd captured and wanted me to capture their family. I was honored! Meet the Anthis family. Tina, a mother of four, wanted some updated pictures of her precious family. We met at Piney Orchard's Nature Preserve early Sunday morning. It was chilly, but they kept the complaining to a minimum while Joshua, the youngest, ran laps to keep warm. What's that saying... youth is wasted on the young? I wish I had his energy!
Sometimes you want your picture taken. Other times, you don't! Friday, young Tommy did NOT want his picture taken. Meet the Smith family. Mom and I arranged to meet at Federal Hill Park in Baltimore first thing Black Friday morning. Unexpectedly, someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed. We tried our best to cheer little man up. Mom and Dad attempted classic games like "I Spy" and Lily tried to get him to play with her on the playground. He wasn't having it. So - we embraced the cranky until he came around!
You can't choose your neighbors, but at my husband & my 1st home we sure lucked out! Meet the Hartman family. Great fire pit company and good people! Mom requested we meet at Patapsco State Park, but she'd never been there. I recommended meeting at the swinging bridge. Mom and Dad were NOT fans of the unstable bridge, but that didn't stop us. Even Skylar, the lovable family dog, joined in on the action!
Meet the Presley family. Thanks to these two cuties, I rocked my "Weekend Warrior" Fitbit challenge! Mom wanted some fresh family portraits. We chose Patapsco State Park for its fall foliage and water features. The girls are adventure seekers. They go hiking regularly with Dad so they zipped all over the trails, leading the way! With a high of 69 degrees we could not have asked for better mid-November weather. I loved capturing the girls' sweet, infectious smiles and could not be more thankful I had the opportunity to shoot this lovable family!
This is Brittany. She is among the most fabulous, charismatic women I've ever met! Brittany is the type of lady who is constantly making those she loves a priority. Even when it means putting herself last. With her 30th birthday quickly approaching, she decided it was time to do something for herself. I was overjoyed to be a part of it! Our plan was to wander around Patapsco State Park in search of interesting architecture and nature. Brittany was adventurous and I learned that photographers should probably always wear closed toes shoes; just in case!
Follow me, Samantha, and my passion here! I love meeting and capturing your beautiful families!
