Welcome to Candid Captures' Blog
Last weekend I packed up my gear and headed up 895 to Antrim 1844 in Taneytown, MD. This 24-acre estate is renowned for its superb cuisine and upscale accommodations. Even in the sparse and chilly month of March the grounds offered a beautiful backdrop for this sweet couple patiently awaiting, baby #2. A little girl they plan to name Daisy! Katie and Pete contacted me off a recommendation from a friend and I'm SO GLAD they did. I loved the location they selected and they were an absolute delight to chat with. Katie was my favorite kind of client! She came prepared with ideas and props, making our session fun and hopefully, exactly what she wanted.
A few weeks ago, I meet these cuties at Downs Park in Pasadena, MD. I'd never been and it might have just become one of my favorite places to shoot! Water views, trails, playgrounds, a DOG PARK... everyone had a ball. We wandered around a bit capturing candids and staging the kids in cozy spots before making our way to the playground. Henry and Emily were amazing sports and I loved catching up with their mom. The family, having two active military parents, has some months of separation in their future over which, my thoughts & prayers will remain with them daily. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to capture Henry & Emily!
Meet Jessica. She's a family friend of beautiful Brittany, that I photographed last month. Jessica was eager to capture some photographs before Melanie, baby #2, arrives in February. She text me maternity photo ideas she'd found online and we began gathering our props. We met at Patapsco State Park and got right to work despite the December chill. We checked all the shots off her list and I couldn't be more excited with the shots we captured! May the rest of your pregnancy be as quick and easy as today's shoot!!
Meet Meghan & Mady! They are a dynamic, inseperable mother-daughter duo. Meghan is one of those ladies that must have cloned herself. How can she possibly be this many places in one day? I met these pretties at Irvine Nature Center in Owings Mills, MD. Despite the brisk December weather we took a quick stroll around. Or rather, Meghan and I raced to keep up with Mady. 1, 2, 3.... GO!
Heather and I met in college. We were sorority sisters and fellow elementary ed majors. Somewhere in there she met Andrew and a little while later came Lily. One of the warmest munchkins I've ever met! Despite arriving late due to traffic, Lily greeted me with a giant hug! Heather and I planned to meet at Bear Branch Nature Center in Westminster, a park near the family's home. It was beautiful and the December weather was bearable enough to explore a bit. I can't wait to return and explore everything the place has to offer in the spring!
Follow me, Samantha, and my passion here! I love meeting and capturing your beautiful families!
